Education Queensland has formed a strategic partnership with Microsoft Australia and the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) to increase direct student pathways into the ICT Industry.

Six Queensland Schools will be involved in the initial phase of the ICT Industry Project and will have the right to be officially branded ‘Gateway Schools to the ICT Industry’.

The 'Gateway Schools to the ICT Industry' are:

Congratulations to Vatsal Mistry and Stellios Koutsis from Mt.Gravatt State High School and to Nicholas Black and Mitchell Dreyer from John Paul College.  These are the students who were successful in winning the first of the CITEC Headstart Traineeships.

The ICT Learning Innovation Centre, in partnership with Microsoft Australia, the Australian Information Industry Association and other industry groups are working to ensure the ICT Industry Project is a success.

The project is run through the ICT Learning Innovation Centre as part of the broader QDEA Industry Partnerships Program.
