Senior phase funding
As part of the Queensland Budget announced on Tuesday, 6 June 2006, $5.25 million in recurrent funding has been allocated to continue the Access to Pathways grants program.  Each region will be allocated $75,000 from program funds to provide coordination support for initiatives within their region. This funding will allow the vital work happening at a district and regional level through the District Youth Achievement Planning process to continue.

Learning or Earning

From January 2006, young people are required to remain at school until they have completed Year 10 or turned 16, whichever comes first.  Then they are required to participate in further education, training or work until they achieve a Certificate III qualification or above, a Certificate of Education or turn 17.

DYAPs

District Youth Achievement Plans (DYAPs) are a locally developed action plan that incorporates schools, TAFE institutes, training providers, community groups, parents and other stakeholders and maps out how the reforms will be implemented to provide local students with every opportunity to succeed in the senior phase.
