The Department of Education and Training’s ICT Learning Innovation Centre aims to promote the innovative use of ICT to enhance modern teaching and learning in the classroom.
Based on the Sunshine Coast, the centre delivers more than 250 professional development events and conferences every year to engage teachers, including early phase and senior phase conferences, digital pedagogy master classes and eLearning Explorations. The centre is also leading the way with online digital delivery of professional development via web conferencing.
These events, delivered to all Education Queensland regions, attract more than 12,500 teachers from over 670 schools – with additional guests coming from both national and international destinations for professional development.
The centre is also the department’s test environment for research into new and emerging learning technologies including digital and mobile technologies, digital pedagogy, digital content and eLearning spaces.
