Page notices

A page notice can be used to:

  • draw attention to something new appearing on the page
  • inform members of an action to be taken by them in regards to information on the page
  • remind people of an important event linked with activities on that page

To create a page notice on a web page...

  1. Open Site Control - Secure area
  2. Select Manage web pages
  3. Select the appropriate site section name and open the page that the notice will appear on.
  4. Select Page notices located in the right panel: Other web page elements
  5. Select Add Notice
  6. Fill in the title and notice details, being sure to complete all the fields marked * Required
and fill in the start date Hint: jot down the date the notice finishes in your diary
  7. Select Add details
  8. The page notice has now been added and is ready to use on your web page.

Tip

Use page notices for a specific reason or to bring something important on that page to the attention of the viewer. People who visit your site might find it distracting and annoying if you use them too often or for reasons that are frivolous.
