Using the Web Links site section enables a community to develop a list of annotated web links in one central location where all users and visitors to the community site can easily find them.
The Web Links control area contains a number of tools to help manage your collection of web links:
Add a Web Site Choose a category for the web link from the list of existing categories. Choose Add a Web Site and complete the form.
Edit an existing web link Choose a category for the web link from the list of existing categories. Choose the relevant web link from the list, click on it, make the changes, and click Update details.
Delete an existing web link Choose a category for the web link from the list of existing categories. Choose the relevant web link from the list, click on it, and click Delete details.
What is a Web Link category? A category is made up of 2 parts - Level 1 and Level 2. If you want to create multiple level 2 groups under the same level 1 group, type the level 1 group exactly the same each time you create a new category. For example:
Level 1: Art Level 2: Painting Level 1: Art Level 2: Graphic Art Level 1: Art Level 2: Sculpture
Add a category After selecting Web Links from the list of tools, click the Add a category button and type a new Level 1 and Level 2 category.
Edit a category You can edit the Level 1 and/or Level 2 grouping in any way you choose, by clicking the Edit a category button and selecting the category you wish to edit. Caution: If you have multiple level 2 groups, make certain that the Level 1 entry is EXACTLY the same for each entry. Even a space makes a difference.
Delete a category When you choose to Delete a category, a check will be made to see if you have entries in the category. If you do, then you will be required to delete the entries before you can delete the category.
