Softball - 19 yrs and under
Queensland School Sport’s objective is to provide an opportunity for all Queensland school students aged 10 years to 19 years to excel in their chosen sport through organised District, Regional, State and National championships.
The representative program for Softball offers opportunity for 19 years and under girls and boys to compete at State championship level, and for the girls at National championship level.
Softball is managed by a committee of dedicated teachers. They are guided by a suite of policies namely, Management,Competition and Financial Operating Procedures, for the management and operation of State championships and other associated events. Bulletin Board
- The Queensland Secondary School Softball Team recently ( 5-11 May 2013 ) participated in the School Sport Australia 17yrs and under Softball Championship in Perth. The girls played extremely well all week, completing the double round robin preliminary games in second place behind New South Wales. They then went on to defeat Western Australia in the semi final and then were victorious over New South Wales in the Grand Final 3 -2. The results of all games are avilable below.
- Five Queensland players were named in the SSA Australian Team to compete in the Softball Australia Friendship series in Sydney, 1 - 5 July. Congratulations to TIA WATERS, TIFFANY ZUCH, DORINDA STONE, TEARNEE MORRICE and SAMANTHA ROBIN for their selection. Best of luck in July.
- Sarah Caterson was named Most Valuable Player for Queensland.
- Qld Secondary School Softball are pleased to again offer the Statewide Softball Knockout Competition for participation by all Secondary Schools. The necessary information has been emailed to Principals in December of 2012 and were mailed to Sport Coordinators in February. These forms may also be downloaded from below.
