Workplace Health & Safety - Annual WHS Audit Guidelines
Annual Assessment
The Annual Assessment must be completed by all schools with Workplace Health and Safety Officers (WHSO). Legislation requires that Principals and Managers allocate adequate resources and time for the WHSO to coordinate and complete the assessment.
The aim of the Annual Assessment is to review the status of health and safety in your school. Schools without a WHSO should also use the Annual Assessment to monitor health and safety management as the responsibility for health and safety still resides with the Principal.
The resources on the webpage linked below are provided to assist schools complete this process. The Annual Assessment Fact Sheet provides detailed information on how to complete the assessment. Schools should use the Annual Assessment Template and then summarise the results in an Action Plan. The Action Plan becomes a prioritised list of projects and strategies for the coming year that should be incorporated into the Annual Operational Plan.
