Mathematics Framework

1.  The Years 1-7 mathematics framework organises all knowledges and understandings (for each organiser) into semester 1 and 2 scope and sequences with:

  • suggested teaching sequences for years 1-7 (including continuia links)
  • possible investigations with a matix to reference against the Essential Learnings
  • link to maths learning objects

The Years 8-9  mathematics framework organises all knowledges and understandings (for each organiser) into a yearly scope and sequences with:

  • possible investigations with a matix to reference against the Essential Learnings
  • links to maths learning objects

2. When planning teachers need to identify (to teach and assess) the relevant ways of working for each maths unit or lesson.

3. Schools can choose to use the mathematics planning and auditing template to identify the Essential Learnings (knowledges and understandings and ways of working) taught and assessed in each term (either through individual lessons, units of work incluing investigation) or plan directly from the provided scope and sequence (if choosing this option is is important to ensure teachers identify, teach and assess the ways of working in their term overview.

4. To access the Mathematics Planning and Auditing Template and the Frameworks for each Science Organiser, access the links below  (Choose an option to OPEN or SAVE Word documents).

These frameworks organise QSA Essential Learnings (Knowledges and Understandings and Ways of Working) and Education Queenslands Years 1-9 Scope & Sequence documents into individual year level overviews.
