I currently work three days a week as Smart Classrooms Mentor and was a primary classroom teacher in a former life. I enjoy the opportunity to visit schools and work with teachers, particularly as they get started with making use of communication tools or setting up virtual classrooms. Promoting the Smart Classrooms PD Framework, running ICT Certificate workshops and being involved in Digital Pedagogy Licence facilitation is another big part of my role. In Mackay we have created a 'Smart Classrooms Team', made up of around a dozen innovative teachers from around the region who are willing to share their passion and talents through PD. It is a pleasure to assist this team and to help to match up the right facilitator with the needs of teachers.
This year I will:
support Clever Networks Schools in the Mackay area
provide support to teachers in the use of online resources through the Years 8 and 9 Literacy training
develop my skills as a facilitator of web conferencing and support the region's curriculum team in delivery of PD via iconnect.
