Step 1: Join a RAP

 
 
 
 

 

 

   Step 1: Join a RAP - How to register

  1. Select the 'Register NOW' link above for the RAP you would like to participate in.
  2. You should now be in your RAP. Select 'Join our project'.

  4. Fill out the required fields and select submit to become a partner in the RAP.
  5. On confirmation an email will be sent to you from the RAP owner to confirm your registration.

 

Step 2: Update your details
  1. Go to the RAP home page and select Current raps and find your project in the list. 
    You could also go directly to your RAP project website via the unique url listed in the display box.
    Hint: save this project url in your favourites.
  2. Select View our project. This will open the RAP project website.
  3. Select RAPPERS in the top right navigation bar and select your school name (one click).
  4. This will open a section underneath that displays your school’s introduction. 
    Select Partner teacher login and enter your Learning Place username and password (or the project login that was emailed to you).
  5. You are now in your Partner control panel (teachers only – no students please). 
    Use the left navigation to update your school/class details. Make sure you select Update details each time you add text to a screen.
	Partner details: Personalise these details to make the RAP enjoyable for all.
Hint: Once you have updated your details you will have another option on the screen: Introduction: edit details
This is where you add your introduction.
	Manage all logins: Ideally your students should have Learning Place logins (if they are EQ).
Hint: Go to Registering students - Bulk add EQ students or contact the Learning Place and we'll do it for you.


a) If your students DO have LP logins these will be listed by selecting: Add LPAS students 
b) Select your school’s location code.

Select those students from the list who are participating and Submit.

You can also set up generic logins for your students.
This is useful if you are not from Education Queensland or you would like your students to work in groups.

Append to teacher notes: Share your teaching ideas and activities. These will be displayed in the Teacher notes section.
A great RAP is when everyone shares their best practice ideas and strategies.

	
You can change or update these details at any time.
 
 Step 3: Send your introduction
  1. Go to the Partner control panel (see Step 2) and login.
    RAPPERS -> your school -> Partner teacher login
  2. You will only be able to add your introduction if you have updated your details page
    eg add your favourite saying
  3. Select: Edit details (below Introduction)
  4. Update details when finished.
    This will put your class introduction next to your RAPPER school name on the project website.
Step 4: Share your teaching ideas
  1. Select RAPPERS in the top right navigation bar and select your school name (one click).
    This will open a section underneath that displays your school’s introduction.
  2. Select Partner teacher login and enter your Learning Place username and password (or the project login that was emailed to you). 
  3. You are now in your Partner control panel. Use the left navigation and select Teaching ideas. 
  4. Add your ideas and strategies that worked with your class. 
    Please provide enough information so that other teachers can adapt it for their own class.
  5. Make sure you select Update details each time you add content.
Step 5: Respond to RAP point
  1. Select RAP 1, RAP 2 or RAP 3 in the top right navigation bar and read the RAP point.
  2. Print the RAP point for discussion and activity with your students. 
    It is important that you have substantive dialogue around the RAP point.
  3. Use a variety of strategies to come to a collaborative class of group decision eg SWOT analysis, decision making matrix etc 
  4. Once you have your RAP response finalised, select Read replies to RAP point - click here (flashing icon at top of page) 
  5. Select your school name.This will open a section underneath that displays your school’s RAP reply.
  6. Select Add reply (far right of screen) and login.
  7. Type in your RAP reply. Make sure you select Update details each time you add content.
  8. You can also Add resources to enhance your reply.
  9. You could provide a video/audio response, add a url, document or flash image to demonstrate your understandings.
