South Coast Region has a team of mentors and facilitators to support schools with the Smart Classrooms initiatives.

Debbie Jones is the eLearning Co-ordinator for the South Coast Region.  Our Smart Classrooms Mentors are Chris Judd, Adam Quirk,  Betty Szymanski, Melinda Cornwall, Cathy Forbes and Jacqui Kidney.

Our role is to support all schools with implementing the Smart Classrooms initiatives, including: 

·         Laptop for Teachers program;

·         Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework (ICT Certificate, Digital Pedagogy Licence, Digital Pedagogy Licence Advanced);

·         eLearning, including digital pedagogy and digital content (Learning Place)

A snapshot of how we may support you and your staff includes: 

·         Assisting you in developing professional development plans that incorporate the Smart Classrooms initiatives, based on the identified needs of your school;

·         Providing professional development to your staff, aligning with the goals of your school’s professional development plan;

·         General information sessions about the Smart Classrooms initiatives mentioned above;

·         Providing access to the various facilitators and expertise available within the region, that may assist you in your professional development needs.

Adopt an eLearning Mentor for a day to work alongside your staff during planning sessions - the mentors can support your staff during planning with ideas and support for using digital technologies to enhance current curriculum context

We form part of a larger team, responsible for other Smart Classrooms initiatives, working with Stuart Dale, the South Coast Regional Technology Manager – alongside the regional MOE and Support teams.

Our mentors are all ICT Licence accredited, and Accredited Facilitators for the Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework.  They are trained and skilled as Smart Classrooms Mentors by eLearning Branch.

The eLearning Team also consists of Regional Accredited Facilitators (ICT's for Learning) - Mark Staines, Fiona Banjer, Shane Roberts & Dawn Clark.
