Sitting at home on a Friday evening watching my Year 7 students blogging in their Virtual Classroom. They were discussing the science concepts involved with the construction of their mousetrap racers. This was powerful evidence of shared learning anywhere, any time.
About Me:
I began teaching in the dim, dark past - the 80's. My first posting was to Longreach State High School where I taught English and History. After travelling north to Trinity Bay High and south to Yeronga High, I had a few years away from teaching to begin a family. I interspersed contracts and children tasting the delights as a Librarian and a Primary school teacher. When I returned to teaching full time I taught in the Early Years, then had a stint in Admin and went to the Upper school as a Year 7 teacher. Now I am relishing the challenges with my new role as a Smart Classrooms Mentor.
My Current Spotlight Project is:
I am assisting with the 'Creating a Virtual Classroom' clinics, supporting Digital Pedagogy Licence aspirants and developing a clinic series to encourage more teachers to engage with digital pedagogy using their C4T laptops.
Current Projects:
This year I will:
master my iPhone and iPod
Podcast and iConnect
host an online Rap series about the powerful persuaders of the past - stay tuned!
