Preparation

Your class can either participate in an existing Rap project or coordinate your own Rap if you would like a further challenge.

Education Queensland and Affiliate staff who are Learning Place members are able to coordinate a project. However any teacher or educator can register to participate in a project that is already established.

Steps

Explore the different Rap projects via the 'Current Raps area' and select a Rap that best suits your students' learning needs. Consider:

  • Learning outcomes
  • Student needs, skills and interests
  • Technology requirements
  • Uniqueness, challenge and sense of fun

Go to the Rap Partner Request Form and click on the appropriate "I Choose this Rap" and complete the form. The Owner Teacher will contact you to let you know if you have been successful.

If selected to participate, you will be emailed a project login for your students. Please ensure your students keep this login private.

Make sure you and your students understand the Rap process and their responsibilities. Your students must have studied the Rap resource (book/film/music) before the Rap begins as they will need to answer a higher order thinking question (Rap point) each week.

Use the Teacher Notes in your Rap area to plan your curriculum and student learning activities.
