Examples of good use of professional learning community tools. The following examples show how different communities use the tools to support their community activities:
Media gallery - the Emerald Learning Community makes excellent use of the Media gallery tool to show a thriving district community involved in activities such as Girls in ICT, Shared Learning Day, teacher professional development, robotics and technology projects and a number of beautiful panoramas and virtual tours of the Emerald district. There is even a media gallery showing every one of the district's 31 schools!
Documents store - the Far Northern Districts Learning Community document store contains documents to assist district groups with formulating action plans, ETRF milestones for the district community and district learning framework.
Web links - the Fitzroy-Central West Learning Community site uses the Web link tool to store links to sites of general interest and teacher professional development.
Our communities tool - one of the tools used to control the format of the front page is the 'Our communities' tool. This tool is part of the 'Manage Default page' function and shows the website visitor all of the sub-communities which are part of the main Professional Community. These sub-communities are websites in their own right generated on a needs basis by the parent community.
The most prolific of the PCs would definately be the Far Northern Districts Learning Community which lists 14 sub-community websites on the front page.
