General Information

What is CY Science?

CY Science (see why science) is an innovative project that supports the teaching of The Australian Curriculum in science, specialising in remote and indigenous education. Currently we cover the sub-strand of chemical sciences with professional development for teachers, a science kit, a science fair and curriculum units utilising resources from the kit. We are now working to extend this service to cover all 4 science understanding sub-strands. In line with this objective, a science fair on Earth and Space Sciences will be ready for trial in early 2012. A second new development to the project provides interested schools with assistance in embedding indigenous knowledge in existing science curriculum using Uncle Ernie’s ‘Holistic Planning and Teaching Framework’.
