From 2004 – 2009, Education Queensland managed an artist in residency program for Queensland state schools where schools contracted a professional artist to create public art with students.

This program was managed by Education Queensland in partnership with Arts Queensland and was Education Queensland’s implementation of the Queensland Government's Public Art policy. Only schools that had a significant Capital Works were invited to participate in this program.
