From Theory to Practice

Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support Conference 2010

The conference will consist of keynote presentations, practical workshops, expert-led master classes and best-practice demonstrations of implementation problem-solving by school teams.  The conference theme of theory to practice will highlight the connections between behaviour, teaching and learning.  Specific content of the conference will include managing challenging behaviour, school safety, early intervention, and best practice in assessment of behavioural and academic problems

Background
A symposium for secondary schools implementing Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support was held in Brisbane on 9 September 2009.  The event was attended by approximately 150 delegates representing 35 high schools implementing SWPBS.  Delegates were in the main from Queensland State High Schools and Colleges, in addition to valued delegations from Brisbane Catholic Education and Northern New South Wales public education.
